Tim kaine visted Charlottesville after voting “no” on now confirmed and sworn in Justice Kavanaugh, and accused Republicans of “ignoring” Christine Ford even after they extended the hearings by a week to hear her unfounded testimony, and then gave an additional 5 days when the Democrats complained that they needed more time. “The claims were so just ignored that if you’ve suffered from a sexual assault or are suffering in an abusive situation, the message that was sent from the Senate is ‘We just don’t care’ and we just can’t afford to send that message to people…” The statement ignores the fact that the hearing with Mrs Ford, by itself, was unprecedented, and that the committee took every precaution to allow her to have her say without the typical badgering associated with Congressional hearings. Mr. Kaine is also ignoring the important fact that Mr Kavanaughs wife and female children are collateral victims of outrageous uncorroborated allegations. I suppose as a Democrat, he believes Republican females don’t count.
Mr. Kaine also left out the part where Senator Grassley offered to bring the hearings to her, to have it all private if necessary, and to do so even though Senator Diane Fienstien had the allegations in June, and said nothing, even when meeting with Judge Kavanugh in private for an hour plus long interview.
It seems Mr Kaine has conveniently forgotten the uncorroborated claims made against him by the The Hook newspaper when he managed to get his friends bailed out of their Biscuit Run fiasco when they stood to lose twenty five million dollars or more. He certainly did some interesting accounting on the last day of the year in the Albemarle courthouse right before they closed.
I suppose Mr Kaine would be more than happy to be denied a post due to these allegations, which actually have a paper trail and are far more substantiated than anything Mrs ford had to offer.
